They say that the best ideas come coincidentally. Coincidence, which we know how to recognize and find out that it is ‘not just a coincidence’, but our mission. It was the same with our story.
The story begins...
O n t h e t r a i n f r o m S e v n i c a t o L j u b l j a n a .
When I was a student, I took the train from Sevnica to Ljubljana every day. The ride is just long enough to give you time to think and observe…
Along the way, my eye often caught colourful crates, boxes and traditional beehives – the homes of small, industrious insects. I borrowed the book From the Honey Bee to Honey in the library just out of curiosity, but it pushed me from the bookshelves to the daily research of bee biology. But you can’t sweeten the tea with a beekeeping book, and a decision was made: I bought two colonies and a beekeeping outfit and, as an agronomy student at the Faculty of Biotechnology, enrolled in the elective course of beekeeping.
My student years were also the time when I got to know what makes me happy and fulfilled what my mission actually is. What inspires me, encourages me to learn more and sparks creativity in me. And things fell into place.

The story continues…
A n d w h a t ’ s m y s t o r y n o w ?
I started with two colonies, but today we are beekeeping with 300 bee colonies and breed around 1000 queen bees. Sara also joined me on my journey, at that time as girlfriend, now my wife and mother of my son Filip. Beekeeping is by no means just our profession, it is our life story and the mission we live.

When we started writing our beekeeping story, we often heard the saying: ‘A bee is a fly that gives no bread.’, but that didn’t stop us. We always tried to think differently, to look at things from a different point of view. The decision to switch to an organic method of beekeeping, the way we set up our breeding station, the selection of Carniolan honey bees, and the organic chestnut plantation prove exactly that.
Organic beekeeping and organic plantation management has become our way of life. We work hard and we want you to taste a part of it too.
We live our motto:‘Observe, listen, research and you’ll surely get a good idea, then be bold and implement it. That’s how you follow your dreams.’

To become a synonym for premium organic apiary and boutique organic royal jelly. We are aware that bee products are a miracle and a gift of nature. Therefore, our vision is to make sure that the products are as the bees bring them to the hive.

O u r m i s s i o n
Our farm offers the consumer bee products of higher quality, queen bees that deviate from other breeders in a positive direction and sweet chestnuts that are the result of healthy, living soil. We confirm our quality with an organic certificate. The certificate is just a piece of paper, but you can succeed in this quality scheme if you also adopt this way of life.

Every year I decide to buy your queen bees because I get what I expect. Queens at the agreed time, good profitability and gentle of bees.

As an organic beekeeper, I am well aware of the meaning of organic products. I do not produce royal jelly, but I recognize the quality and trust in the work of your beekeeping. The royal jelly is genuine and of high quality. I would recommend it.

We really like your product Trio, because it is so creamy and sweet, and it also strengthens our immune system. We recommend it to all parents of younger children who would like to give their little ones something high-quality and organic to boost their immunity.

We’ve been observing the love and attention that the Metelko family invests in their organic products for many years and we enjoy trying the final results of their cooperation with bees and nature.
