CARNICA QUEEN BEES

Production Carnica queen bees from Slovenia

Many people wonder why production Carnica queen bees from Slovenia are so special among other Carnica queen bees.

Slovenia is a part of the area where Apis mellifera Carnica originate, so we have an exceptional genetic diversity, which is reflected in a very compact brood pattern and in the good health of the colony. In fact, open/randomly mated, which are production Carnica queen bees from Slovenia, have a very high percentage of breed purity, as the whole surrounding area is populated only by the native bee, Apis mellifera carnica, and so beekeepers get a very good ¨purity¨ of Carnica queen bees for their money

Production queens are young queens bred in the current year and open mated (randomly mated). Dame is well known, but mated with naturally present drones, but we do not neglect this factor either.

The breeding apiary is located in the valley of the Sava river, where we try really hard to maintain the top genetics of drones of the Apis mellifera carnica subspecies. By using the latest knowledge of how queens and drones behave in nature in relation to our geographical specifics, we strive for better results.

Production MS Carnica Queens are available for purchase from mid-May to the end of July.
